Pin Droppers

Player of the Week: Ser Nick of the Bowling Realm

In the realm of Club Sports, where strikes are celebrated more than swordsmanship and gutter balls are worse than betrayals, a new hero has emerged from the shadows of the lanes: Nick, Lord of the Pins and Protector of the Spare Isles.

This week, Ser Nick, hailing from the snowy lands of South Bend, Indiana, etched his name into the history books with a personal high score of 186, besting foes and friends alike. It was a performance so mighty, even the King of the North would have laid down his sword in awe.

“I came to Club Sports looking for something to do,” Nick admitted, reminiscing on his humble beginnings. “But now I’m out here conquering lanes like I’m storming Winterfell.”

When not ruling the bowling lanes, Ser Nick sharpens his skills in the kitchens, where he crafts dishes worthy of feasts in the Great Hall. A master of spices and sauces, he’s known to combine his passions for cooking and bowling by declaring, “If the pins don’t fall, they’ll be marinated and roasted by sundown.”

But that’s not all—Nick spends his off-duty hours scaling walls like a spider from Essos, rock climbing his way to new heights. “The climbing keeps me nimble for those tricky 7-10 splits,” he says, undoubtedly inspired by the Wall’s Night Watch agility drills.

By day, Nick wields numbers instead of swords, working in finance for a restaurant group. He’s the Hand of the Spreadsheet, ensuring the books balance as neatly as his bowling scores. “I like to think of it as managing kingdoms of food and gold,” he explains. “But without the backstabbing… unless someone takes the last donut.”

Ser Nick’s triumph on the lanes this week wasn’t just a win—it was a spectacle. With every strike, the pins seemed to whisper, “Winter is striking.” His final frame, a perfect crescendo of focus and finesse, left the crowd cheering like the Battle of the Bastards had just turned in Jon Snow’s favor.

So raise your goblets (or soda cups) to Ser Nick of South Bend, the Bowler of the Week. May his reign be long, his strikes frequent, and his cooking as legendary as his Game of Thrones references. “The pins may bend, but they shall never break,” he declared, walking off the lanes like a true king of bowling.
